TECTONITE #1
2019 - La Cambre / Master Project / Textile design
The constant movement of the world can be felt even in what seems to be the most inert matter. I am trying to reveal these underground, mysterious forces which are creating the reliefs, pleats or cracks in a mineral fabric by using an experimental approach. An unexpected ensemblement of matters would create a given material that exists at the junction point of a series of techniques, leading to interferences between flexibility and rigidity, ressistance and fraility, natural and artificial «geology».
Materials : flax thread, synthetic plaster, white and grey cement, mural, mica, sand. Techniques : Stitch, coating, finishing, mixed techniques. Photo credit : Ariane De la Bâtie, Romy Berger, Elfie Poiré.
